READING: Revelation 12:7-12.
“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:8
One could wonder why the Apostle Paul would put out such clarion call: “people praying everywhere.” There is a myriad of reasons for such a great desire in one like him. Firstly, almost everything has a spiritual dimension in this life; the realm of the spirit is as real as the physical dimension we see.
Again, prayers are the means by which we access the spiritual realm.
It is so powerful it can influence what happens physically too. Furthermore, praying everywhere is necessary because in this life, both the physical and spiritual realms do not ‘entertain’ vacuums. Every space is occupied by something (good or bad), whether we recognize it or not.
We have to understand that as God’s works and His agents abound, satanic and demonic activities are indeed rife everywhere. Our prayers bring them under subjection. If we get an understanding in these things, being asked or called upon to pray will not be irritating and met with apathy. Let us lift prayer everywhere. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I pray for the spirit of prayer to fall upon me from this season onwards. Please help me to pray without ceasing, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
