READING: Psalm 142:1-7.
“It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes…The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.” (Psalm 118:8-9,14)
It is commonplace to expect help and assistance from fellow man in times of need or trouble. While sometimes we get them, most times we are greeted with disappointment. It is for the simple reason that man is also faced with his own burdens and is therefore limited.
The weight of the disappointment depends on how much confidence we repose in whoever we expected help from. We may however be oblivious to what he or she may be facing at the same time. Others may simply not be bothered even though they could help. But such is human.
Only One can be trusted, and with confidence, without any reservation. That is God. He alone is mighty to save and to help without limitation. What we would expect so much from a man to do, God does over and beyond. Just look back in time.
Experience has proven that He has been faithful. Put your hope and confidence in Him.
Remember Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please teach me how to continually put my hope and trust in You and not to depend on men, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
