I believe in sowing seeds into the life of fathers, mentors and ministries but it must be done with the right of motive. There is power in seed sowing, but seed sowing with the right motive produces bountiful harvest. Today in ministry many people sow seeds for the wrong reasons. Sowing seeds with the wrong reasons has made many homeless, broke and in debt.
Many young pastors believe that if they identify a senior man of God or a father, and they sow seed for him, that particular father one day will open a door for them. Perhaps give them access to the pulpit, and if they are ever in trouble, that man of God might help them out. This is an example of sowing with the wrong motive.
Some young pastors also believe that when they keep sowing seeds, they become automatic friends with the father. Once again, this is a wrong motive. These fathers know who their friends are, so no matter the amount of seed you sow, it will not automatically make you become their friend.
In most cases after you have dropped your seed and you go, so do you disappear from their minds.
At times some of the people you sow seeds into will not be there to rescue you in your most difficult season. Several of the fathers you sow big seeds to, might not bring you to their pulpit to even share closing prayers. When you sow seeds, sow it with the right motive. We sow seeds for:
1. Affection;
2. Appreciation; and
3. Activation
But not for:
1. Appeasement; and
2. Aggrandizement.
Understand that when you buy a relationship with money, it must be sustained with money.
Please note and know that most of the people you sow money to, in your most difficult time they will not be there to rescue you. When you need them, they will do a swift dance on you, and disappear. So sow with the right motive to begin with.
