READING: Psalm 119:89-96.
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
Words, whether spoken or written, have effects. They describe what ought to be or not to be in this life and even in eternity. They seem to have some force because they are from a source; living or once alive. God’s Word is more. It is a Living Word. And we need to relate to His Word that way.
Our Lord Jesus Christ described His own words as “Spirit and life” in John 6:63. That makes the Word “a Living Entity”. The writer of Hebrews 4:12 said, “it is quick (alive) and powerful (active).” That means the Word of God is a working word at all times, even though it was released long ago.
If we would see the Word as a Living One, we will stop relating to it as a remote, inactive thing. We would expect it to go into action because it is not left in a book, dead but it is alive and capable of doing things.
Psalm 107:20 says “He sent His Word, and He healed them all…” The Centurion told Jesus to send His Word and his servant would be healed, and he was! Only a living Word can do such things. We need a reintroduction to the Word. It is alive! Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word and I pray that my eyes will be opened to relate to your Word as a Living One. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
