READING: Hebrews 11:17-22.
“He sent a man before them – Joseph – who was sold as a slave. They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him.” (Psalm 105:17-19)
Every word of God is time bound. It is set for an appointed time and has a timeframe for its manifestation. Between the time of its release, and that of its fulfilment is as a test. This is what happened to Joseph, and indeed many others. It is the same with us too.
Looking at what happened to Joseph after receiving a reassuring Word from the Lord, it reveals how God’s Word works in our lives. Sometimes, we are the exact opposite of what the Word of promise said.
Even though God may have spoken, the situation on the ground could be a contradiction to His Word.
We are afforded an understanding in this Scripture as to what really may be going on. It is not always a case of delay or demonic opposition, it could be that word is testing us. It tests our faith in the promise and also our patience to wait for its appointed time. The “bad situations” also become part of the testimony when the Word is fulfilled. Watch out, your testimony may be the next! Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I pray that I will have the grace to go through my waiting time and that I will not fall, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
