READING: John 1:1-3, 10-14.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
From the foregoing, God’s Word can be described as a multipurpose tool He uses to work in our lives. It is both effective and efficient in the execution of these divine operations. Notably, however, the Word is projected here as a Personality. It is living and possesses a great ability to undertake tasks. This deals with the notion that some have, that the Word of God is just philosophical ideas of a distant or an imaginary being.
The Word speaks for itself, or better still, Himself.
It is revealed as able to work and affect the human life, in the areas of the spirit, the soul and body. This is how what may be hidden in a person’s life from others is revealed, as the Word is able to convict. A great work of transformation comes on such a person.
When it comes to the body, this same Word has the capability to seek out hidden sicknesses and diseases and heal them (Psalm 107:20 and Hebrews 4:13). Seriously afflicted people are restored to health and vitality by the power of the Word. What a great blessing! Let Him work today in every area of your life that needs working on. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I pray for the grace to recognize the Word as real a Person as the Lord and that He is as His Word. I pray that The Word works in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
