“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)
This is a major key to our dilemma of not receiving what we pray for sometimes. That key is believing whilst praying. Many a time we try ‘praying’ rather than really be praying. That kind is not backed with believing so we pray anyhow – saying things that are not faith-inspired. We may even pray whilst we are absent minded in reality.
It is consciously believing the Lord on that particular need whilst we utter the prayer, that connects us to an answer. Another area is what is said in Philippians 4:6, “be anxious for nothing. But in everything submit your requests unto God in prayer and supplications with thanksgiving.” This is actually a commandment: “Be anxious for nothing!”
This is how we pray sometimes; not believing but out of anxiety, especially during times of crisis. But anxiety-based prayer is almost no prayer, for we wonder whether the Lord heard us or if He really cares. The key God has provided is to add believing to our praying; mix our prayers with a strong persuasion that it is already done. Answers will then follow. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Father in Heaven, please deliver me from my heart being filled with anxiety and fear. Please help me to be strong in faith, trusting You for answers, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
