READING: Luke 10:21-24.
“Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 16:16-17)
It is interesting that this matter of who Jesus really is came up when the Lord had left the crowd, and was alone with His close disciples. Just like Simon Peter, the Apostle, anyone who follows and keeps company with the Lord Jesus Christ is blessed with the greatest privilege to know what others do not know. It is one of the blessings reserved only for those who stay close to Him.
Most Christians receive and know very little of what the Lord has to give us. They occupy what may be called “the outer court”. The way to get into “the inner circles of the Lord” is not to “remain with the crowd” (the general level of Christianity), where most people dwell, but to draw closer to Him. Do not depend only on “the crowd Christianity.” Consciously pursue the Lord and go deeper in your relationship with Him; spend time alone in His presence. That is where you will know more and be blessed.
Remember that not everybody gets to know the deep things of God. Only a small number of persons become privy to them. It is a great opportunity to hear and to know what others do not know. Usually, these come by revelation. It is a blessing to be among the few that have access to the Lord’s hidden truths. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, please help me to be closer to you from now onwards by your grace. Amen!
