READING: Psalm 55:16-19.
“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
This is a rather short Scripture but holds the key to many situations we face as children of God. It is quite instructive and clear: there must be no end to praying! It is a great eye-opener in the sense that it calls for our constant engagement with the force of prayer.
“Always” means prayer is required all the time for almost everything. It informs us that praying must be part and parcel of our lives. Now, that does not exclude taking practical steps and responsible actions in our lives whilst only excusing ourselves with ‘praying.’ Pray and take meaningful steps into the answers. That is the way our God works.
It further instructs us to be wise enough to pray on and about all things since they may have consequences unknown to us. Praying can both do and avert a lot.
Praying endlessly is key to dealing with many issues we face daily.
So pray without ceasing. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Our Father in Heaven, please help me with the grace to pray without ceasing in my daily life, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
