READING: Matthew 14:22-32.
“Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3)
The words that the Lord Jesus speak are capable of accomplishing more things than we know or can imagine.
This is because of His Person, Who He really is; the exact expression of God, The Father. One of the surprising things His Word does is to sustain all things. One word from His mouth has kept and still keeps all things in the universe in place.
Scientific knowledge may explain away why things do not fall out. But the Word shows us the power behind those explanations; His Word. That is how powerful God’s Word is, and we need to get this deep inside us, being convinced by that. But the truth is, human as we are, we all lose some amount of our confidence in the Word, depending on what is happening at the time.
Such moments are when we need to remind ourselves of how powerful the Lord’s Word is. If His Word can keep the sun, moon, stars and the clouds in their place, then there is some kind of power in it to sustain us in every situation. All we need is to hang on to what He says about them until it works out. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYERS: Dear Father in Heaven, please help me to hold on to your Word so it can sustain me in every situation. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
