READING: John 1:1-4, 10-14.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.…. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-2, 14)
To benefit fully from the Word of God that we have, which we read and hear always, we have to recognize the “Person of the Word.” Understand that the Word of God is more than just the stories of the Lord, but His representation. From the Scripture, we can trace and identify who “The Word” really is.
Consider the following scriptures:
“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”(Revelation 19:13)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
Look at this verse: “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:1-3)
It is becoming clearer here who is being revealed – the Lord Jesus Christ!
Several names are accorded Him in the scriptures. One of them is “The Word of God”. The Word is a revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. He is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, please help me to relate to You through Your Word. Open my eyes to recognize You through the Word. Amen!
