READING: Mark 6:39-46.
“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” (Daniel 6:10)
Life’s situations and circumstances have a way of defining our lifestyles. They ‘prescribe’ for us what we must do with our time. Our timeframe does not seem enough for us to be praying as we ought to. We are simply ‘too busy’ to have enough time to be praying, let alone regularly.
Daniel was one very busy person; a government official, second only to the king. Yet, he was able to pray three times a day! How did that happen? He made it happen. He created his own times of praying. He factored the times for his personal prayer into his daily schedules and nothing would prevent him.
He purposed and determined to pray, no matter what, even to the peril of his life. Prayer, to him, was a priority. This is what may be lacking with us. Unless you intentionally create your own times of praying, you will be ‘too busy’ to pray. Avoid that mistake! Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Father in Heaven, please help me to overcome the tendency to allow other things to take all of my time, preventing me from praying, as I should, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
