“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”(John 6:63)
By what our Lord Jesus said, our eyes are being opened to the real nature and value of the Word of God, even more especially, the words of Jesus. God’s Word is more than just someone’s sayings recorded or penned down. It is more than we know. God’s word is alive and has the capacity to impart life; activate, make alive, create and recreate.
The reason we may easily reduce the Word to mere stories, history or just religious jargons is because of our lack in understanding of what it is in reality. That makes us miss the actual benefits the Word can bring us. Surprisingly, it is the same Word (or words) that created the entire universe! It is the same Word that raised nations out of nothing. It is the same Word that created miracles and raised the dead. It is the same Word that was prophesied and it became reality. It is that same Word that saved people and even changed their lives.
It is noteworthy that we still have that same Word today. It is still spiritually potent and does the same things it did, that we read and hear about. The same situations and needs back then still exist today, and even worse. We need the Word more seriously now to turn our lives and things around.
Do not underestimate the Word. Remember, Jesus is coming back!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I pray that my faith in the Your Word will rise to the level of receiving it as it should be, seeing it as with great power, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
