READING: Romans 8:5-11.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit….The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:6,8)
Human life is more than what the eye sees. The Christian’s life is both physical and spiritual. A life that is limited to just the flesh is one that is not fully lived. You must activate your spiritual life, that is what the Lord Jesus said and is still saying.
We are born naturally but there is “another birth” we must experience i.e. the spiritual birth that the Lord Jesus referred to as being “born again”. This is not a slogan or a form of religion, it is a must, as the Lord Himself said. “You must be born again!” Since God said “you shall surely die” to Adam, they did not die, (they lived physically for hundreds of years) but they died spiritually; separated from the divine life. That is the life that must be activated.
Most people, even some Christians, do not feel or sense anything spiritual, except their daily physical lives. They have never encountered anything supernatural – the thought of it even sounds unreal and strange to them. They think it is extreme. It is simply because the spiritual part of their lives is not activated. Be concerned with these words of Jesus, you will then be interested in seeking in the scriptures what makes you “alive”. This is a good place to start from. Jesus is coming again!
