READING: 2 Samuel 22:1-7.
“And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.” (Joel 2:32)
In the natural, when we are stuck in tough times, our first thought is likely to find our way out by self effort or by calling on others. To immediately call upon the Lord may not be the first. The obvious reason for this is the notion that, God is afar off. But one of the greatest blessings to man is to be shown the way out of a challenge.
We are the ones who at times turn away from the Lord and His ways, resulting in unpleasant outcomes. In other instances, hard times just visit us for unknown reasons. But the good news is, there is a way out of all. God is so loving and so good that no matter how far we stray, He is willing to show us the path back into the ways of His goodness and peace. And that is to call upon the name of the Lord first in every situation.
He Himself has shown us that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” So He is not as far as we may think. The truth is, He is rather much closer to us and cares for us far more than others. There is deliverance for you if you will turn, first, to the Lord and He will show you how to come out. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Father in Heaven, please teach me how to depend on You and to call upon You in prayer first in every situation. I receive guidance for all my situations, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
