READING: John 8:21-27.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” (John 10:27-28)
Personal safety is what almost every human being cares about in this life. It is a primary concern here on earth. But many do not consider it beyond the grave; it ends at the burial site. Here, we are being informed that a man’s security concerns should even cover life beyond this earth.
The Lord Jesus Himself said He is the Guarantor of eternal safety; He gives eternal life. But that happens only to those who choose to be “His sheep”, who hear His voice and follow Him. And He knows them too! This is where the issue lies for everyone.
The key matter is this, whose voice we hear and follow determines where we will end: eternal safety or eternal damnation. If there is “The Good Shepherd’s” voice, there is also a contrary voice; the one who misleads us and lures us into eternal destruction. That is the Devil. So be safe eternally. Be as humble as a sheep, hear the voice of the Lord – His Word and the inner witness He gives you, and follow Him. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, I pray today for your grace to become one of your sheep, who hears your voice and follows you. Please help me Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
