READING: Psalm 119:33-40.
‘And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”’ (Luke 2:49)
Our Lord Jesus Christ was very clear about His purpose on earth. We, His followers, ought to really follow Him in this: doing our Father’s business! It is a wonder how today’s Church has minimized the main things on the Father’s heart such as prayer (Mathew 21:13), soul winning & discipling people (Matthew 28:19-20) and caring for others (Matthew 25:37-40).
The reality is, we have replaced these vital requirements of the Lord with other “church activities.” Remember that Jesus is coming for His disciples, not just “church members”! (Matthew 7:21-23).
It is time we all got back to the Father’s business, focusing on the main things our Lord Jesus emphasized. Those are what He is coming for. They have not changed. May this year be a “new year” indeed, when we return to the core mandate of the Church; occupy ourselves with the Father’s business. Make time to get involved. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I pray that my heart will be turned towards “Your business”. I pray for the grace to be more involved from now on. In Jesus’ name. Amen
