READING: Genesis 15:1-7.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” (Habbakuk 2:3)
When God speaks, gives us a vision or a dream and does not specify the timeframe, it can become a recipe for worry and anxiety. It applies to us mostly in the area of promises and prophecies from the Lord which seem to have been ‘delayed’.
Indeed, having to wait for the anticipated to materialize is not easy for many. We need to understand that these divine promises are for appointed times. Thus, waiting is also part of our dealings with the Lord. It is part of our journey of faith and a proof of our trust in God’s faithfulness.
It is important to note that every vision, prophecy or promise of the Lord will put us to that test.
In order not to fail, we must wait, not in anxiety, fear or despondency but in hope and dependence on His Word to feed and lift our faith. That builds expectation which will surely not be disappointed but come to pass. Remember, Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please deliver me from the spirit of fear, worry and anxiety that affect my faith and confidence in Your Word. Please grant me the grace to wait patiently in Jesus’ name. Amen!
