READING: 1 Corinthians 12:12-19.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-12)
This is a clear purpose-filled scripture, showing that ultimately a true Christian can be doing some sort of work for the Kingdom of God. By this scripture, we realize that so much can be done by Christians as in the Church in Acts of the Apostles.
The reason for God giving us the different ministers we have is for His people (the saints) to be equipped; trained and empowered to do the work of the ministry. This is the goal for all Christians and the main reason why we are not yet in Heaven, but still alive here.
As a Christian, it is good to note that as part of your life in this world. So you are encouraged to avail yourself to be equipped, as the scriptures say. You can be a great blessing, more than just “a church-goer”. Avail yourself this year and be more involved. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for the grace and understanding to be part of the workforce in the Kingdom of God. Help me Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
