READING: Judges 15:9-16.
“So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)
These are the words of the Lord Himself, and He draws our attention to things we try to do by ourselves that actually require the ability of the Holy Spirit. So clearly, there are things we can and have to do, and there are others that we cannot accomplish with our own strength.
The things commanded by God, and even our Christian life, can be made possible or can succeed through the aid of the Spirit of God. The main reason is, God is a Spirit and we relate to Him spiritually (John 4:24). However, it is amazing how we easily set aside the Holy Spirit and try to do things that require His help by our own might. Is it any wonder that we are struggling so much, yet not achieving much? The Lord Jesus said “the Spirit gives life but the flesh profits nothing” (John 6:33).
Remember always that the Holy Spirit has been sent to help us.
It is about time we do not neglect or ignore Him in our lives but acknowledge and depend on Him always, and for all that we need Him for. Jesus is coming again!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Holy Spirit, I thank You that You are here to help me. I need Your help in every area of my life and I receive it from now on in Jesus’ name. Amen!
