READING: Psalm 27:1-14.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
In Christ, you have something great to show in this dark world as a child of God. It is your light. The reality is when you walk with the Lord, who is the light, His light affects you; it shines on you until it enters you. It is a spiritual light transferred.
The more the light shines on you, the more you become a light yourself.
What is this light? It is the Word of God. Psalms 119:105 says “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”. Now, see who the Word really is. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God!” (John 1:1). And in John 8:12, “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
So this is it! To let your light shine, you need to have more of the Word in your heart and live by it. As you practically begin to live out the Word, you become an example to others. When they see you, it is as the light of God shining. Your testimony then becomes your light. So let it shine. Jesus is coming soon!
🙏 PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, please help me to be more in Your Word and to draw closer to You, so Your light would reflect on me and through me. That my light will shine. Amen!
